Dreadlock Technique
Love Locs uses Crochet Technique which is 100% Natural and requires no product (eg, wax).
This technique can be used on all hair types (straight, afro).
Kristi-Ellen has perfected her technique over the years to to keep as much length as possible. If you choose to have open end dreadlocks (loose hair on the bottom), after install you will only loose 3ish centremetress of length.
It is Love Locs highest priority to treat your hair and scalp with tender love and care. Love Locs will not leave your head hurting for days after as Kristi-Ellen values the wellbeing of your scalp and hair follicles. Improper technique over time can damage the hair follicle which can lead to loss of hair growth. You scalp/hair follicle health is important to us.

How do I prepare for my appointment?
It is recommended to switch to a sulfate + paraben free shampoo and to refrain from conditioning up to 4 weeks before your dreadlock install if possible. This strips the chemical build up from the hair allowing for quicker dreadlocking
What is the cost dependent on?
Dreadlock Install cost is dependent on dreadlock thickness/quantity, hair texture and hair length. Hair that has texture (afro) or is damaged by bleach or the sun will dreadlock quicker/easier then virgin straight hair.

This includes hair quality, loc length, hair type and the frequency of crochet maintenance.
Single Locs: Approx 1/2 Hour
Single Row Underneath (4 Locs): Approx 1 hour
Partial Set Locs on Crown(20-30 Locs): Approx 4 hours
Partial Set Locs Back of Head(30ish): Approx 4 Hours
Full Head Short - Above Shoulders (50-60 Locs): 4/5 hours
Full Head Medium Length - High Chest (50-60 Locs): 7/8 hours
Full Head Long Length - Mid Chest (50-60 Locs): 10+ hours

Sectioning
Love Locs will section your dreadlocks to suit the shape of your head.
This is done custom to every person with the shape of squares and triangles in a brick formation.
Brick formation allows the dreadlocks to fall in a way that covers as much scalp as possible giving you the fullest look possible. If you desire a different sectioning technique Love Locs is happy to discuss this further with you.

There are many style options when choosing to get dreadlocks. These include:

✧ Dreadlocking the crown of the head for dreadlock top knot / mohawk.
