My first Locs were born in 2016. I started with one which turned into a few more then another row totaling 1When backpacking in Asia 2017 my Locs were in desperate need of attention. Off I went to the local market in Kampot - Cambodia, in search of a crochet hook. Unfortunately I came back empty handed. I had more luck with round 2 the next day
With guidance from my loctician and also Youtube, my partner at the time went to work on my hair. Too our success the back of my hair no longer looked like a rat’s nest. Yay!
Not too long after I set to work on my partner’s head. It took me 3 weeks to loc his head in 3 different countries.
Returning to Australia the following year I loced some of my friend’s heads then decided to do myself.
Over several months I loced the rest of my head, row by row adding 22" human hair extensions. Integrating the transformation step by step. I had always dreamed of long hair since I was 13 and finally, I had the Goddess Locs of my Dreams.
My locs taught me to Love Myself. My insecurities about my appearance slipped away along with my negative self-talk.
For the first time in my life, I fell inlove with my hair.
I felt more 'me'. I felt more comfortable in my own skin.
This feeling I felt was my Inspiration to birth 'Love Locs'.
It is my goal to assist others in achieving this same feeling in expressing their Authentic Self Unapologetically.
I have developed my skill over the years, trial and error, with investing many many many hours into my craft.
My method is gentle on the scalp and will maintain as much length as possible. The secret to reducing shrinkage is palm rolling + stretching your locs as much as possible during the maturing process.
